Is white a more rare color in Huskies?
When I bought my female Siberian Husky, the breeder told me that pure white huskies were rare. Four years later, my female had 2 pure whites in her first litter and now I am being told that yes they are rare and then no they are not rare. I am debating on which puppy that I want to keep, and dont want to sell both of the white ones if indeed this is a rare color. Please give me good advice!
I was told by another Husky owner to check the undercoat and if there was no color at all then it was considered pure white. Mine is pure white.
would you consider my dog beautiful?
he is a siberian husky, turquoise eyes, and a rare color for siberian huskies the color is like a brownish orange and white in the warm weather and changes to a light orange and white in the cold weather
that sounds like a beautiful dog. of course, i love dogs with turquoise eyes to begin with, but the full description sounds beautiful.
Are White Siberian Huskies Rare? and how do you keep their coats white?
I Personally don’t think so, cause its not the color of the dog that matters, but i have alot of people tell me that white huskies are rare…thing is if they were, there wouldn’t be too many of them around, and i see many husky owners with white ones all the time, i might even be getting a white male husky pup myself from my neighbors, i have a black and white spayed female.
i’m just curious to see what you guys think, since i might be getting a white husky puppy, but not cause of its color, its just that i want another husky pup and this one just happens to be white….also how do you keep its coat white??
after ahwhile i see in most white huskies that their coat will turn egg white(ish), or just yellow like the bottom of a rabbits foot, sometimes constant brushing won’t even keep it white, and then they look dirty later like they had been rolling in pee, even if they’re clean
I’ve seen quite a few all white huskies so I don’t think they’re exceptionally rare. To keep it white, you’ll need to invest in a really good whitening shampoo (and not expect it to stay perfectly white all the time). I have had a Samoyed who stayed pretty white on her own I think being able to brush her and just the type of fur of sled dogs helped. I now however, own a Komondor who seems to attract dirt out of thin air and the only thing we can find to keep him white is some expensive whitening shampoo our groomer gave us. (the regular whitening stuff at stores just didnt cut it).
I have an 8 week old husky with brown eyes. How rare is it for his eyes to change color??
The mom was born with brown but changed to blue and the dad has brown?? I want blue eyes so what are my chances of him getting them keeping in mind that he is 8 weeks and he is full blood Siberian Husky?
All puppies have blue eyes when born. It is a darker blue, but it isn’t brown. Whomever told you the mother’s eyes changed from brown to blue is either color-blind, or lying.
Here is what I see in my puppies: When their eyes open, they are (as I said) all a cloudy blue. In the puppies who are going to have blue eyes, the eyes will lighten as they age — you can tell that they are going to stay blue by 8 weeks.
In the puppies who will have brown eyes, the eyes will stay a darkish-blue, and then darken into brown. You sometimes can’t tell for sure that they are going to be completely brown until they are closer to 10 weeks.
Hope this helps.
What are all the colors of the Siberian Husky?
Most common to rarest. Thanx.
